" My own personal milestones at this fourth dimension of life are dissimilar to theirs ( weddings , etc ) , but they still wanted to make certain I feel celebrated and lie with . "
As she walked out onto the balcony asking “what is this?”, Cheyenne’s friends answered, “It’s for you!” Text placed over the video reads, “When your friends throw you a surprise party simply because they want to celebrate you.”#
“Whyy?!” Cheyenne asked, saying “that’s so nice” as voices shouted out her achievements. “Because you deserve it!” one friend said; another explained, “You just got a new apartment — you’re crushing life, Chey!”#
The video, which has earned well over half a million views as of the time of writing, owes part of its virality to Cheyenne’s caption. “One of my favourite things to do is to celebrate my friends and their milestones,” the TikTok user said. “My own personal milestones at this time of life are different to theirs (weddings, etc), but they still wanted to make sure I felt celebrated and loved.”#
“Women supporting women will always be my fuel and fire,” she added below her video. “Saying I am grateful would be an understatement.”#

“You hit the friend jackpot,” someone else wrote.#
Cheyenne toldPeople, “Most of us turned 30 this year, and we’re at that point celebrating a lot of weddings and bachelorette parties, things like that… I am not at that point in my life yet, and so I have other milestones right now … I’m moving from a studio to a one-bed apartment, I had some exciting things happen at work.” She added, “It meant so, so much, because much of my time has gone to celebrating their milestones, which really is my favourite thing to do. It was really special to have it reciprocated.”#
BuzzFeed UK also spoke to Cheyenne, who explained a little bit more about the party. For starters, it turns out that Alex, the host, “periodically hosts dinner parties for us, so when she invited us all over to her home for a Monday night dinner, I didn’t think twice about it,” she said.#
“I think the biggest stand-out moment from the party was the decorations,” she added. “My friend Haleigh spear-headed that effort, and she did an amazing job. She and the group found pictures of me through every stage of life, and it was really special to go around the room and relive some amazing memories” (awww).#
Cheyenne also confirmed my suspicion that “The food was AMAZING.” She said, “My friend Alex is the chef of our friend group. She is incredibly talented and takes on cooking challenging dishes that she knows everyone will enjoy.”#
“I absolutely think we should celebrate non-traditional achievements more often,” she told Buzzfeed UK. “It’s 2024 and people are carving out more unique paths than ever before, setting and achieving personal goals that may appear ‘off the beaten path’. We should be embracing the people in our lives for their own unique work, accomplishments, and celebrations.”#
“The party my friends threw me inspired me to start celebrating the ‘little things’ in life, so I now go through my day more aware of what we can celebrate outside of the big and traditional milestones as well,” she added. Amen to that!#
