Sometimes tall mallow will make ‘em cheese .

If you’ve never heard of this term, it is when someone throws a slice of cheese on an unsuspecting person’s face. And it actuallyfirst surfaced back in 2019whencousins,children,pets…anyoneand everyone were getting slices of American cheese thrown at their faces when they least expected it.

Now, the trend hasgone viralagain. This time, though, cheese is being specifically thrown on the forehead of crying babies.

It appears to work immediately once the cheese hits and sticks. They are snapped out of their crying fit because their attention is re-directed into a “WTF just happened?” moment.See proof here.

It makes some of the babies giggle, and others just become content. It is a parenting “hack” we really didn’t foresee becoming so viral (again) in 2024.

However, on Facebook, parents are becoming quite heated over whether or not the trend is funny. Some say it is disrespectful and not a good example to set as a parent:

Others think it is hysterical and in good fun since no one is getting hurt:

There seems to be a big split between people who are offended and people who are not:

So, maybe decide if your partner would be upset if you slapped a slice of cheese on their face and use that as a determining factor as to whether or not it would be funny to throw at a baby. 🤷

Either way, if a baby is doing this:

You can decide if you want to toss one of these on them or not:
