So , there ’s more to the chronicle .

Last year, whenDisneyofficially announced a follow-up to the 2019 remake ofThe Lion King, fans were quite skeptical based on their critical reception of the first film.

The legend of the Pride Rockanimalkingdom will continue later this year on Dec. 20.

Since we’re nearing the end of the year, last night’s D23 event premiered a full-length trailer ofMufasa:The Lion King, and it’s epic.

Mufasa: The Lion Kingis directed by Barry Jenkins (If Beale Street Could Talk, Moonlight), and the screenplay is by the writer of the original first film, Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hourfranchise,Catch Me If You Can) — so, you know it’s about to be compelling.

Not only are King Simba (voiced by Donald Glover), Queen Nala (voiced by Beyoncé), Pumbaa, and Timon (voiced by Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner) returning, but a couple of new characters are joining the live-action franchise.

Simba and Nala’s daughter Kiara (voiced by Blue Ivy) will make her debut as she hears the legend of how her grandfather, Mufasa (voiced by Aaron Pierre), an orphaned lion, joins the family of another lion, Taka (voiced by Kelvin Harrison Jr.) and battles a formidable lion named Kiros.

The trailer revealed that Taka (who eventually becomes Scar) is the heir to a royal bloodline. He befriends Mufasa and brings him into the family, and that’s got people second-guessing everything they knew aboutThe Lion Kingand how they feel about one of Disney’s most menacing villains.

One user wrote: “So Mufasa was an orphan and Scar saved him & got the pact to accept him & somehow ended up as the Lion King? I would’ve killed his ass too.”

So Mufasa was an orphan and Scar pull through him & got the treaty to accept him & somehow he ended up as the Lion King ? I would ’ve killed his ass toohttps://t.co/ehimqKG7yx

Some people started to have a change of heart about Mufasa and Scar’s relationship.

he is a Usurper??? … justice for the one genuine King Scar , first of his name!pic.twitter.com / xIkBcp6EEm

So mufasa is not royalty , does that mean everything he taught simba was a prevarication ?

Some people were having difficulty accepting this new development in the history of Mufasa and Scar.

the orig taradiddle had Mufasa and his sib as royal , with Mufasa being the eldest , and it ’s such a bummer they altered that

Mufasa ’s family require to abuse in — this rewrite of history is unacceptable . Scar was the outcast , jealous of Mufasa ’s upbringing lmao

It ’s an unneeded modification to their origin that like you articulate , makes Scar ’s placement and actions seem reasonable .

Here y all go mess up up the chronicle again . Now Scar gon na end up being the good guy cable if Mufasa come and took his commode and he ai n’t even blood fam ! ! !

And finally, this user thinks there may be more to this legend than the trailer revealed.

I doubt I think mufasa is still the rightful successor of pride rock because in the preview they do n’t show pride rock so mark was heir to another dominion so I ’m guessing mark ’s parents give way and mufasa took hum back to pridefulness rock

Whatever way the legend of Mufasa plays out, I’m seated! December, hurry up and get here.
