On Sept. 18, 61-year-old school administrator Joan Vassos will grace TV screens as the inauguralGolden Bachelorette.

Joan may look familiar. She was a contestant on the first season ofThe Golden Bachelor,which starredGerry Turner. However, Joan notably left the show early to attend to her family.
