A moment in Olympic history many the great unwashed willneverforget .

My entire timeline has been obsessed with French pole vaulter, Anthony Ammirati.

He, uh, knocked the bar over with what appeared to be his, well, you-know-what.

Put the other rod away sir!!@NBCOlympics@TeamUSA#USASLAYALLDAYpic.twitter.com/8Po3ZXidwu

The clip went mega viral.

Anthony came in 15th place…

…and now he’s speaking out about the mishap.

Anthony told theFrench Athletics Federation, “It’s a big disappointment.”

“The conditions were good. It’s the first time I’ve started a competition without any stress,” hecontinued. “As I was a total outsider, I only had one goal: to play with the audience. I was almost there.”

Well, that’s certainly a bummer but hopefully he’ll get another shot in 2028!

To quote the great movieThe Sandlot, “Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.”

How do I set my dating app to specifically pick up that French pole pole jumper
