One of my favorite Olympic traditions is the nicknaming of the Team USA gymnastics team , and this class was no exception .

Congratulations to our girls on Team USA for demolishing the competition and winning the team gold!

They truly killed it.

Up until now, the five perosn squad haven’t had a team name.

If you remember, it all started at the 2012 London Games when they called themselves the Fierce Five.

At the Rio Games in 2016, they went by the Final Five.

In 2021, they named themselves the Fighting Four.

And now we have their 2024 Paris nickname.

Earlier today, Simone joked that their name was “F Around And Find Out Five.”

Simone says the squad name is “ F * around and find out ” five .

But then she clarified on Twitter their real name:

okay on the tangible though , the official team name is ✨ gold daughter ✨ ( because oldest olympic team)s / o to cecile🥹🤍

Yes, the Golden Girls.

If you didn’t know, they’re the oldest US women’s gymnastics team in history.

As the person mentioned, Aly Raisman previously held the title of the oldest Team USA gymnastics gold medalist. She was 22. Now, three out of five of the Golden Girls are older than her.

Aly Raisman start the Clarence Day as the oldest U.S. distaff gymnast to ever come through Olympic gold ( 22 in 2016 ) . She is now fourth behind Biles ( 27 ) , Jade Carey ( 24 ) and Jordan Chiles ( 23 ) .

So, yeah, it’s very fitting. Love them so much, I’m completely obsessed… bye!
