If you remember, back in 2022, Shawncanceledthe rest of his world tour to focus on his mental health and took a step back from the spotlight.

Sure, we had a few singles, some features, aTommy Hilfiger campaign, and a handful ofpaparazzi photos, but ultimately, Shawn remained pretty low-key.

Until now, that is.

Shawn announced his new album,Shawn,with two singles, “Why Why Why” and “Isn’t That Enough,” on July 31, and was immediately booked and busy between being scheduled to perform atthe MTV VMAson Sept. 11 and a handful of festivals in South America, like Lollapoolaza in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile.

The self-titled project is his fifth studio album, set to be released on Oct. 18.

In classic Shawn fashion, he sprinkled the internet withsamplesof his new music and pictures of himself wearing his signature tank tops or going completelyshirtless.

On Sept. 6, Shawn surprisingly popped back on Twitter (formerly known as X), and when a fan doubted it was him, how the “There’s Nothing Holdin' Me Back” singer responded almost broke the internet.

When Shawn innocently said, “hii, wow it’s been a long time since i’ve been on here,” an X user asked, “IS THIS REALLT YOU?”
