Oprah Winfrey made a surprise appearance at the Democratic National Convention to celebrate Vice PresidentKamala Harris— and throw a dig at J.D. Vance.
Taking the stage at Chicago’s United Center on Wednesday night,Oprahbrought the crowd to their feet with animpassioned speechurging voters to “choose common sense over nonsense.”
After talking about the importance of “standing up to life’s bullies,” the media mogul noted that most humans, regardless of their political affiliations or beliefs, “would still help you in a heartbeat if you were in trouble.”
Back in 2021, during aFox News interviewwithTucker Carlson, Vance suggested that women who have not birthed children are “childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made.”
As you may know, Oprah — who lost apremature sonwhen she was 14 years old — has talked candidly about not having children, clarifying that it wasnever something she hoped for.
In light of this, it’s no surprise that she took an opportunity to denounce Vance’s claims about women without kids — and she isn’t the only childfree celebrity to have done so.
