Last night wasday two of the Democratic National Convention, and former first lady Michelle Obama arguably stole the night with her speech.

In her deliverance, Obama discussed the idea of “hope making a comeback” after feeling it dim over the last few years, saying, “Kamala [Harris] knows, like we do, that regardless of where you come from, what you look like, who you love, how you worship, or what’s in your bank account, we all deserve the opportunity to build a different life. All of our contributions deserve to be accepted and valued because no one has a monopoly on what it means to be an American. No one.”
Later in her speech, when commenting on Harris’s experience with hard work that “never benefit[ed] from the affirmative action of generational wealth,” Obama juxtaposed the actions of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
She said , " For years , Donald Trump did everything in his big businessman to endeavor to make masses fear us . See , his limited , narrow-minded view of the populace made him feel threatened by the existence of two severely - working , highly educated , successful mass who materialise to be Black . "
She further called out the former president for “doubling down on ugly, misogynistic, racist lies as a substitute for real ideas and solutions that will actually make people’s lives better.”
As people online have noted, the speech was quite the departure from her 2016 DNC monologue, where Obama popularized amantrashe became synonymous with: “When they go low, we go high.”
