He might be a fresh face in Hollywood, but Melvin has already starred alongside some of today’s biggest A-listers on both the small and big screen. His notable projects includeNine Perfect Strangers,Snowfall,The Way Back,High Flying Bird,American Vandal,The United States vs. Billie Holiday,The Blackening, and most recently,Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.

On Tuesday, Peacock announced Melvin would be joining the cast of the upcoming mockumentary-style spinoff, with Chelsea Frei (The Cleaning Lady,The Moodys) and Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever,DC’s Legends of Tomorrow).

Domhnall Gleeson (About Time,Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) are set to lead the ensemble cast.

After receiving the good news, Melvin took to Instagram toshare it with his fans, where he opened up about how “blessed” he was.

“Through my work I wish to not only entertain but to hopefully inspire,” he wrote. “My followers have seen me come so far.”

“From silly videos on Vine to building a family and a budding acting career, sketches with the homies to scenes with some of the biggest stars on the planet. From this announcement to Fight Night setting world records…dreams come true.”

The Officespinoff,rumoredto be namedThe Paper, will exist in the same Dunder Mifflin universe, but this time, instead of pushing paper, they’re trying to save one. The cast discovers a struggling historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to save it with volunteer reporters.

It will be executive-produced by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman along with UKOfficecreators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Whether members of the original US cast will have any part in the spinoff is still to be decided.
