" My hair was just like floating , whisping off , like breaking away . And I looked completely and felt completely insane . "

Jonathan Baileyspoke about the chaos of shootingWicked,Bridgerton, andFellow Travelersat the same time.

The 36-year-old will play Fiyero in the upcomingWickedadaptation, whileBridgertonSeason 3 saw him return as fan-favorite Lord Anthony. If that wasn’t enough, he received an Emmy nomination for his role in the Showtime seriesFellow Travelers, which follows the relationship of two men who meet during the height of McCarthyism.

Speaking to theHollywood Reporterabout the busy time, he recalled, “The whole experience has just shown me how amazing producers can be. I think it was 32 days in a row where I didn’t have one day off.”

“I flew back and forth four times. I’d go from [Fellow Travelerscharacter] Hawk’s house in the ‘60s at the cabin, go straight to the airport, sleep on the plane, go straight to a regency ball, sleep there, then go straight toWickedto be learning choreography. And at that point, I was so late in joining theWickedlot,” he continued.

“They’d already started filming, and that also was incredible for Marc Platt to make that work,” Jonathan explained. “There’s nothing quite like the feeling of trying to work out the priorities of whether you have to learn the choreography today, or work on your American accent, or pelt your hair ready for anotherBridgertonsnog.”

“I probably wouldn’t rush into doing that again,” he said, noting that music was “absolutely key” in helping him transition from character to character. “But I would say that I was quite good at rolling all the way through and then at the end, I had a five-day holiday, and my hair had died from all the perming and straightening.”

“I had to perm my hair forBridgertonand straighten my hair for [Fellow Travelers]. I was like a teenage beauty advert, doing everything to my hair. I remember going on this holiday and I got to the beach, I sat down in the sun, and my hair was just like floating, whisping off, like breaking away. And I looked completely and felt completely insane,” he added.

If you’re wondering how Jonathan managed to have such lush hair inWicked, he succinctlysaidlast month, “I had a big old toupée! That’s a big spoiler alert, but yeah, it’s a toupée. I’m in the choreography so it’s flapping about!”

All the heat had an effect onFellow Travelers' costume designer Joseph La Corte, who told theDaily Beastlast year, “InBridgerton, he’s curly-haired; on our show, he is straight-haired, so when he would leave us, he’d have to get a perm to go back toBridgerton. One night, we were talking, and he said, ‘Come, I’m gonna get a perm.’ I’m sitting in the chair, and I was like, ‘Wait, let’s do me!’ We did my hair, and I’ve had it permed ever since because of him.”

One does have to wonder if they meant perms or just using a curling iron! You can read the full interviewhere.
