Jenna Ortega ’s jam take care forBeetlejuice Beetlejuiceare already arresting .
We’re only a few weeks away fromBeetlejuice Beetlejuicehitting theaters, and as someone who watches the originalBeetlejuicereligiously every Halloween, I’m so excited.
A sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 movie,Beetlejuice Beetlejuiceis set around 36 years after the events of the first film and follows the Deetz family as they return home to their iconic house. Soon, Lydia’s daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysteries of the house and Betelgeuse.
Winona Ryder,Catherine O’Hara, andMichael Keatonare reprising their roles from the first movie, withJenna Ortegastarring as Astrid. This marks Jenna’s second collaboration with Tim Burton after Netflix’sWednesday, which is currently filming its second season.
SinceBeetlejuice Beetlejuicewill be released soon, press for the film is in full swing, with the stars already stepping out in some memorable outfits inspired by the spooky and gothic vibe of both films.
Notably, Jenna has already been seen wearing pinstripes and all-black outfits, which perfectly pay tribute toBeetlejuice. However, her most recent outfit is just a next-level amazing homage.
Yesterday, Jenna was spotted in NYC wearing a Thom Browneensemblethat matches Lydia Deetz’s final outfit fromBeetlejuice.
You can see that Jenna is wearing a plaid skirt and blue sweater, which also features the logo for Lydia’s school from the movie.
Here’s a side-by-side of the two outfits:
Lydia notably wears this inBeetlejuiceduring the final scene when she dances to “Jump in the Line” by Harry Belafonte, aka the “Shake, shake, shake, Senora” dance moment.
And, just to complete her outfit, Jenna’s purse was a recreation of theHandbook for the Recently Deceased, which Barbara and Adam receive after dying inBeetlejuice.
Of course, Jenna’s purse, which wasreportedlydesigned by Ozias Paris, reads “Handbag for the Recently Deceased” instead, which is just flawless.
Speaking about joiningBeetlejuice Beetlejuiceand working with Winona in particular, who is also a Tim Burton movie legend, Jennarecently told Fandango, “[The set] just felt like a free and collaborative space, but Winona and I — I swear we just started talking one day on set and then never stopped.”
I cannot wait to see Winona as Lydia again and Jenna’s work as Astrid in the new movie. I just know they’re going to be great together.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuicehits theaters on Sept. 6.
