Ice Spice Said She Was "Confused" By The Matty Healy Backlash: "I Feel Like People Just Wanted Something To Be Mad About"

Ice Spice is coming to Taylor Swift’s defense.

Last year, the duo famously collaborated on Taylor’s “Karma” remix. The songreachedNo. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart andtoppedits Pop Airplay list — but it wasn’t without controversy.

The hosts also mocked different accents, such as Japanese and Hawaiian, and referred to Ice as “one of the InuitSpice Girls,” a “chubby Chinese lady,” and “a fucking Eskimo.”

“[It’s] so rude to me, [because] why would she not want to be my friend?” Ice said. “Taylor fucks with me. She’s so funny. I think our personalities mesh really well.”

“I actually was late as fuck to that,” she confessed. “I didn’t know about it until, like, a month after or something like that.”

“He apologized multiple times, but I didn’t realize how big of a deal it was to other people. I feel like people just wanted something to be mad about, I guess."

Ice also said, “I wasn’t angry or sad or anything. I was just kind of confused. I never really cared about that.” She added that she’s still “a huge fan” of his to this day and continues to play his music.
