Congratulations , Nada Hafez !
Nada Hafez is a three-time Olympic Egyptian fencer.#
She first competed at Rio 2016.#
She competed again four years later at Tokyo 2020.#
And she’s back, this time in Paris.#
Hafez won against American Elizabeth Tartakovsky in fencing’s Table of 32 on Monday, and she celebrated with quite the announcement onInstagram.#
“What appears to you as two players on the podium, they were actually three! It was me, my competitor, & my yet-to-come to our world, little baby!” she wrote. “My baby & I had our fair share of challenges, be it both physical & emotional. The rollercoaster of pregnancy is tough on its own, but having to fight to keep the balance of life & sports was nothing short of strenuous, however worth it.”#
Hafez also noted that she was filled with “pride” on advancing to the Round of 16. South Korean Jeon Hayoung bested her in the Round of 16.#
Regardless, Hafez competing while pregnant is something to celebrate.#
“This specific Olympics was different; Three times Olympian but this time carrying a little Olympian one! ❤️” she concluded.#
