Hugh put in some serious work to prepare for the role and documented every step of his workout regimen with trainerBeth Lewis.#
He started sharing behind-the-scenes photos of him getting swole in the gym in February 2023. He was an early riser andstartedhis workouts at 4 a.m. each day.#
And proved his “no days off” mentality made a huge difference just as much as the days he let his body rest.#
Hugh is all about the cold plunge when it comes to recovery days. Hecaptionedthis post saying, “Is it a polar bear plunge when the temp is 36 degrees? Either way, I can tell you it felt absolutely freezing, yet completely amazing on my very sore Beth-trained body.”#
And he gave fans a sneak peek of what it’s really like when diving into the frigid water.#
Outside of the gym, it was all work in the kitchen. Hughfueled his workoutroutine by eating steamed fish and vegetables four times a day for six months. He also bulked up with protein-packed meal preps like the ones below.#
