" She has the same look in her eyes that my mom has when she yells at me . "

The VMAs happened this week. So, of course, pop singer/songwriterChappell Roanwas in attendance andperformedone of her hit songs, “Good Luck, Babe!”

But, before her performance, she had a somewhatheated interactionwith a male photographer on the red carpet.

While she was adjusting her dress, the photographer loudly said, “I’m not gonna shut the fuck up she missed the spot!”

The photographer appeared to be upset because Chappell missed the “photography spot” which is a mark on red carpets designated for celebrities as the best place to take photos.

you may see a dislocation of the explanation in more detail here .

She immediately looked over and sternly yelled, “You shut the fuck up!”

The photographer can then be heard saying, “Your publicist…” before Chappell interrupts, saying, “No. Not me bitch.”

After that, other photographers cheered her on, saying things like, “Yeahhhh!!!” and “You tell him, girl!” Here is a video of the moment for reference:

Well now, as expected, videos of the incident have been going viral on TikTok, withover 15 million viewsand climbing.

People are obsessed with Chappell’s demeanor when standing up for herself in the clip:

And loving her assertive body language…

Even if it gives off that “my mom is really mad at me” energy:

Historically, celebrities have been expected to maintain kindness to the paparazzi and their fans even if they’re out of line. Some believe it “goes along with the territory” of being famous — like a consequence of their fame.

And Chappell recently made headlines forcalling out the normalization of celebrity"abuse," “harassment,” and “stalking.”

Commenters noted that by speaking out, she is not only standing up for herself but also for people working the event behind the scenes:

So, commenters feel that Chappell could be single-handedly shaking the industry in a way it never has been before

…And everyone is glad the moment was caught on camera so we can all learn from it:

👏👏👏:

Chappell, keep challenging the industry, standing up for yourself, and being 🌶️ spicy 🌶️.
