“I do work really hard,” Elle said. “I don’t think I ever really got scooted into the ‘nepo baby’ thing.”#
The “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer revealed she and her dad “weren’t super close” when she got signed to her music label. So instead of influencing the direction of her career or her decision to pursue music, Elle said Rob was more of a “deterrent.”#
“We really weren’t even speaking…,” she added. “I was a lot closer with my mom’s family in Ohio, and so I just have always gone by my mom’s last name.”#
Although she doesn’t creditThe Hot Chickstar for kickstarting her profession, Elle does praise him for giving her “pipes.” According to her, no one does a better rendition ofElvisthan him.#
Elle cites her mom, London, for not only helping her pursue her passion for music, but she also attributes her funny sense of humor to her mother as well.#
“My mom was the one, you know, carrying my guitar and sneaking me into bars, and letting me stay out with my friends and taking the guitar home for me.”#
