Jenna Ortegarecently remembered a “heartwarming” moment when the late actorCameron Boycesupported her during an uncomfortable audition.

Chatting with herBeetlejuice Beetlejuicecostars,Winona RyderandCatherine O’Hara, during aninterviewwith French outlet Canal+, Jenna recalled having a difficult time when she was supposed to kiss Cameron during an audition.
Jenna noted that they were good friends and teenagers then, and she remained “thankful” for Cameron’s gesture.
“The last time I saw my friendCameron Boyce— I’d known him since I was, like, 11 or 12, and we were supposed to kiss [during the audition], and he knew me since I was 11 or 12,” Jenna said to her costars.
“This is a few years later, 15 or 16, we came in and we were supposed to be love interests. But because he obviously felt weird and he was a bit older, he was like — we both just kinda looked at each other and we were like, ‘No, we can’t do this.'”
“He was so sweet because I was uncomfortable and I was having a hard time,” Jenna continued, adding that she was “really grateful and thankful” for him speaking up for her, “And then, we wished each other well.”
Cameron’s parents said they cherish it when his fans and supporters “keep his legacy alive,” and Jenna’s recent statement has sparked many emotional reactions that do just that.
