During aFox News interviewthat aired on Monday, the 38-year-old defended her husband. “He made a quip in service of making a point that he wanted to make that was substantive,” she said, excusing his offensive rhetoric. “And I just wish sometimes that people would talk about those things and that we would spend a lot less time just sort of going through this three-word phrase or that three-word phrase.”

According to the news outlet, Vance said Americans without kids are “more sociopathic” and make the US “less mentally stable.” He took particular issue with “leadership class” childless Americans and also said Twitter’s “most deranged” and “most psychotic” users don’t have kids.
Usha said she understands there are many reasons why “people choose not to have families, and many of those reasons are very good.”
“Let’s try to look at the real conversation that he’s trying to have and engage with it and understand for those of us who do have families, for the many of us who want to have families, and for whom it’s really hard, what can we do to make it better? What can we do to make it easier to live in 2024?” she concluded.
Voters shouldn’t have to sift through a pile of insults to piece together the conversation a vice presidential running mate is “trying to have.” If this candidate actually cared about building a campaign platform to address the needs of families, he’d do well to spend less time disparaging a huge portion of voters and instead focus on helping people.
