When the interviewer asked whether or not it was “Kee-oh-gan” or “Kee-gan,” theBanshees of Inisherinstar quickly pointed out the right answer.
According to Barry, it’s “Kee-oh-gan,” y’all.
“Some people get it wrong; I mean, even Irish people get it wrong.” Barry said, explaining that K-E-O-G-H is typically pronounced “Key-oh,” so once the “A-N” is added, it’s considered “Kee-own.”
It appears that Barry’s family pronounces the letter “G” in their surname.
