JoJo Siwa may appear all bold and confident on stage, but deep down, she admits she’s “very insecure” about singing.
She made theconfessionthis week on an episode ofThe Really Good Podcastwith Bobbi Althoff.
“I am very insecure about singing,” JoJo confessed.
“It all stems from when I was younger,” she said, pointing specifically toDance Moms, on which she appeared from ages 11 to 12.
“There were a couple of things that happened where a few girls would say to me, that were also on the show, that I couldn’t sing with them ‘cause I wasn’t a good singer and I wasn’t able to sing,” JoJo explained.
While JoJo didn’t name names, she’s beenvocalin the past about feeling like an “outsider” among the cast, which included Maddie Ziegler,Chloé Lukasiak, Nia Sioux, Kalani Hilliker, Mackenzie Ziegler, Kendall Vertes, and Brooke and Paige Hyland.
She alsosaidthat appearing in the show alone was “detrimental” — but at the same time, she called it “the biggest blessing of [her] entire life.”
“What’s crazy isDance Momscreated such a phenomenon that everyone from the show is in their own way successful,” she added in the interview with Bobbi.
Earlier this year, JoJo released a new song, “Karma,” her first since launching what many fans have dubbed her “bad girl” era. Unfortunately, the reception to the song was largelynegative, with the video becoming themost-dislikedmusic video of the year. Still, JoJo isn’t stopping, recentlyreleasingher follow-up song, “Guilty Pleasure.”
